Ryan Reynolds has delivered a heartfelt tribute to Paul Mullin following the striker’s departure from Wrexham<\/a>, lauding the forward’s contribution both on and off the field and stating he “changed Wrexham and changed all of us”.<\/p>\n

Mullin’s exit brings to a close an enormously important era at Wrexham AFC<\/a>, where he established himself as a pivotal figure in the club’s resurgence under Hollywood proprietors Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.<\/p>\n

His contract was terminated by mutual consent on Friday, the club confirmed.<\/p>\n

Reynolds celebrated Mullin’s influence throughout his spell in North Wales, emphasising the striker’s unwavering determination and capacity to produce when it mattered most.<\/p>\n

“Every day at Wrexham, on and off the pitch, Paul set the standard for courage, for tenacity, for humanity,” Reynolds posted on Instagram, reports Wales Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“No matter how far down we fell, no matter where we were, we never lost hope because we knew there was a real-life honest-to-goodness super-man on our side, a man who could turn the final minutes of a match into a miracle.<\/p>\n

“He gave hope not just to a team, but to a whole town, and the world. That’s what makes Paul super.<\/p>\n

“@paulmullin12, I hope you understand how you’ve changed Wrexham and how you’ve changed all of us. I’m honoured to have seen you make the impossible real and forever grateful to you. And I know you’ll never stop fighting for what matters most.”<\/p>\n

Mullin has been one of the defining players of the Wrexham era under Reynolds and McElhenney, playing a key role in their rise through the leagues and becoming a fan favourite at the Racecourse Ground.<\/p>\n

His goals, work rate and knack for producing decisive moments in crucial matches helped turn him into one of the standout figures of the club’s modern history.<\/p>\n

He scored 110 goals in 172 appearances following his arrival from Cambridge in 2021. The striker’s profile was further raised by his role in the the award-winning ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ docuseries and, following his move to Wigan last season, Reynolds said he could not “imagine seeing Mulls on loan and in another kit”. Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said: “I would like to wish Paul all the best. This settlement enables him to take his time and find the right club for him, going forward.<\/p>\n

“It can’t be underestimated the role Mulls has played in the story of Wrexham Football Club over the last five years, with so many memorable goals and moments.<\/p>\n

“He’ll be a player always remembered and revered by our supporters.”<\/p>\n

Mullin, who won three consecutive player of the season awards at Wrexham, was one of 10 players to win back-to-back-to-back promotions at the club. The 31-year-old leaves Wrexham as their ninth-highest goalscorer of all time.<\/p>\n
