In some ways, the Sawyers Bay home is better than their new one, Duffy said, adding that their move had nothing to do with the house itself. <\/p>\n
What they especially loved about 5 Goddard Way is that it\u2019s open-plan and set up to take full advantage of the world outside, including Otago Harbour and the surrounding farmland. \u201cYou get a lot of light coming through the sunroof.\u201d<\/p>\n
He told OneRoof that the kitchen, with its high-spec finishes and large walk-in pantry, had been a big drawcard for Tash, who ran her business from the home. \u201cThe kitchen\u2019s beautiful and opens into the lounge. It\u2019s very homely, comforting, and warm compared to what we\u2019d come from,\u201d Duffy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd there is some awesome technology in the house. The guy who built it was a bit of a tech freak. There are self-raising sunroofs, there\u2019s Bluetooth throughout the whole house and little things like that, which we found quite cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another big drawcard was the backyard, important for a cricketer. \u201cThere\u2019s very good garden space. We have two decent lawns, a large flat section, which is hard to come by in Dunedin, and a nice wee outdoor area for hosting.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said there was room to bowl a cricket ball, but joked that his daughter \u201cwasn\u2019t yet old enough to play\u201d just yet.<\/p>\n
Duffy has had a whirlwind 18 months, both professionally and personally, with new homes, a new baby, and an IPL title under his belt. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m playing pretty full-time for New Zealand. We had a World Cup in India between January and March, and then I was in the IPL.\u201d He flew back to New Zealand a week before his daughter was born, forgoing the current tour of England. \u201cThere was no way I could be in England because our baby was due in the middle.\u201d<\/p>\n
Duffy said he would rejoin the team shortly. \u201cI\u2019m off to the West Indies in a couple of weeks for a one-day series. Then New Zealand cricket has a big summer coming up. We\u2019ve got big tours with India, Australia and the likes coming over here, which is probably one of the biggest summers we\u2019ve had in a long time. Exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n
