Olivia Mehaffey leads the Irish charge at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, the Tandragee native sits in 11th position after carding a 68 in the second round on a sweltering Saturday in Beroun.<\/p>\n
Mehaffey started her round with a bogie on the first, but clawed back the deficit with an impressive eagle on the seventh and three birdies in the final ten holes to card a four-under 68. She now sits on ten under with eight other players going into tomorrow’s final round.<\/p>\n
Sara Byrne also carded 68 for her second round and sits in 26th position on seven under par.<\/p>\n
Aine Donegan is back in 37th on six under.<\/p>\n
Sweden’s Lisa Pettersson and England\u2019s Charlotte Heath top a stacked leaderboard after the pair moved to 13-under par.<\/p>\n
As the birdies continued to flow in the Czech Republic, Pettersson followed up yesterday\u2019s 66 (-6) with a 65 (-7) to leapfrog Lydia Hall and Vanessa Knecht in the morning wave and take the solo lead. This came as Finland\u2019s Noora Komulainen made a charge of her own moving to 12-under par thanks to a second round 67 (-5).<\/p>\n
Pettersson, a one-time winner on the Ladies European Tour (LET), carded six birdies and one eagle which came at the short par-5 7th \u2013 her third last hole. She signed her scorecard as temperatures reached a blistering 36 degrees at Royal Beroun Golf Club.<\/p>\n
Five players round out the top ten in a tie for sixth on ten-under par.
