\n\tThere doesn\u2019t need to be a full moon for this creature to arrive. <\/p>\n
\n\tUniversal has released the trailer for \u201cWerewulf<\/a>,\u201d which will debut in theaters on Dec. 25.<\/p>\n \n\tThe logline reads, \u201cIn 13th-century England, a mysterious creature stalks a foggy countryside as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality for the villagers.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe trailer teases Aaron Taylor-Johnson<\/a> as the titular creature, who undergoes an intense transformation that leaves the townspeople terrified. Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp reunite with director Robert Eggers<\/a> for the project after previously working together in \u201cNosferatu.\u201d Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson are also returning for Egger\u2019s newest horror<\/a> period piece. <\/p>\n \n\tJack Morris, Jan Bijvoet, Ritchi Edwards and Bodhi Rae Breathnach also star in the film, with Maiden Voyage\u2019s Chris and Eleanor Columbus executive producing. Along with Focus Features, Eggers and Sj\u00f3n are producing after having previously co-written \u201cThe Northman\u201d together in 2022. <\/p>\n \n\tFocus Features has partnered on all of Eggers\u2019 films, including the critically acclaimed \u201cNosferatu,\u201d which released on Christmas Day 2024. In that movie, Depp played a young woman who is tormented after vampire Count Orlok (Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd) becomes obsessed with her. Taylor-Johnson starred as Friedrich Harding, a skeptic set in his belief that vampires don\u2019t exist. Nicholas Hoult and Emma Corrin also appeared in the film, which earned $40 million on its Christmas debut and went on to gross over $181 million worldwide.<\/p>\n \n\tEggers is no newcomer to the horror genre, having previously directed \u201cThe Northman\u201d with Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd and \u201cThe Witch\u201d with Anya Taylor-Joy and Ineson.
