The original <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"Product recalls\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/product-recalls\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recall<\/a> <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"Warning to Appletiser, Sprite and Coca-Cola drinkers as fresh recall issued\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/uk\/2007362\/appletiser-sprite-coca-cola-recall-issued\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was issued in January<\/a> after tests found elevated levels of chlorate, a chemical byproduct that can form during water treatment.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, certain six-packs of the Coca-Cola-owned sparkling drink, with best-before dates of 30 November and 31 December and production codes 328 GE to 338 GE, were withdrawn from sale. Customers were advised to return them for a full refund.<\/p>\n<p>That earlier alert also affected other Coca-Cola brands, including Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Tropico and Appletiser, across the UK and EU.
