Firefighter crews have rescued people from a blaze and one patient has been taken to hospital for further treatment following a house fire on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
The Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, the North East Ambulance Service, the Great North Air Ambulance Service, and Northumbria Police were all alerted before 3.30am to the incident that involved a fire in a property on Cragside Avenue, a residential street in North Shields.<\/p>\n
A huge response saw five fire appliances, three ambulances and three HART resources dispatched to the address to attend the major blaze.<\/p>\n
Emergency services have remained on the scene on Wednesday morning where a police cordon is in place and a section of the road has been closed. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.<\/p>\n
