Westside Cowboy<\/a> have shared their rousing new single \u2018Pin Up Boys\u2019, and announced a run of record store live shows.<\/p>\n

It is the latest taste of the Manchester quartet\u2019s upcoming debut album \u2018It Goes On<\/a>\u2019, which is set for release on August 21 via Island Records. Pre-order it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Pin Up Boys\u2019 is the second single to be taken from the record, following\u00a0the \u201cmad, \u201970s rock\u201d lead single \u2018Kick Stones (The Boys)\u2019<\/a>, which arrived last month.<\/p>\n

Beginning with Reuben Haycocks\u2019 vocals over a sparse arrangement, the track builds into a rousing quiet-loud indie anthem, showing off the band\u2019s knack for channelling classic guitar sounds into something contemporary.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the track, the\u00a0NME 100 alumni<\/a>\u00a0have\u00a0said: \u201c\u2018Pin Up Boys\u2019 was written a year and a half ago using an acoustic guitar, a drum machine sample\u00a0pad\u00a0and some screwdrivers as drumsticks. It is by far the longest serving song on the album and the one that we have played the most live, which was a blessing and a curse when we came to record.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter realising this song was set in its ways, we thought the recording should be a somewhat faithful version of the live performance. We hope you get something out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018It Goes On\u2019 has been produced by Loren Humphrey, whose previous credits include Geese<\/a>, Cameron Winter<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Wunderhorse<\/a>, at Greenmount Studios in Leeds.<\/p>\n

The band\u00a0have\u00a0also announced a run of record store shows around the album\u2019s release, with tickets set to go on sale on Thursday (July 2)\u00a0\u2013 find yours\u00a0here<\/a>.\u00a0These dates join their already-announced UK and European tour,\u00a0which you can see in full here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us, Westside was all about bringing the fun back into the music generally,\u201d vocalist\/guitarist Reuben Haycocks said. \u201cIn a songwriting sense, we were taking everything a little less seriously.
