England went 1-0 down to DR Congo in their round of 32 World Cup knockout clash, with a number of Thomas Tuchel’s players instantly making their disappointment known<\/p>\n

Jude Bellingham was spotted screaming in frustration at the England<\/a> bench moments after DR Congo<\/a> took a 1-0 lead over them in the World Cup<\/a> on Wednesday evening. Brian Cipenga handed the Three Lions a mountain to climb just seven minutes into the encounter, beating Jordan Pickford<\/a> at his near post before wheeling away in jubilation.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old was unmarked at the back post as a result of Djed Spence tracking Noah Sadiki, as the ball was switched over to the far side of the pitch. From there Cipenga took his touch well as he drove into the box, hitting it low and hard past a diving Pickford to give his nation the lead.<\/p>\n

Declan Rice<\/a> was spotted arguing with team-mates in frustration following the error England were punished for, while Real Madrid<\/a> talent Bellingham<\/a> threw his arms up in vexation while he turned to Thomas Tuchel’s<\/a> bench and made his feelings clear. Meanwhile, Alan Shearer<\/a>, on BBC<\/a> commentary for the match, was quick to point out who was at fault for the strike.<\/p>\n

Bellingham’s temper seemed to get the better of him moments later, when he was booked in the first-half of play for a late challenge. And Paul Robinson pointed out on 5Live that he was unimpressed by the body language of the England players after going a goal down.<\/p>\n

He said: “I’m not enjoying the body language of the England players. I saw a shot of Jude Bellingham<\/a> after that misplaced pass. I’m not liking the body language of the players and the manager at the moment.”<\/p>\n

Shearer added on the BBC’s main coverage: “Bellingham made his mind up that he was going in for the crunching tackle a few seconds before, and he couldn’t change his mind. It is a yellow card, no doubt.”<\/p>\n

Guy Mowbray then claimed that Bellingham has a tendency to be fired up when the going gets tough on the highest stages. He said: “We do see that from Jude Bellingham.<\/p>\n

“We see it for Real Madrid when things aren’t going entirely his way. You wouldn’t want to take that streak out of him, but he’s got to manage it now.”<\/p>\n

Rice and Bellingham were not the only players on the pitch showing their emotions early into the encounter, however. Pickford was spotted animatedly asking more of his defence following a sloppy passage of play which saw Cipenga pile the pressure on his goal before firing high over the bar.<\/p>\n

Everything rides on England’s clash with DR Congo, with the winner advancing to the round of 16 while the loser goes home empty-handed. A loss in the round of 32 would be a major upset for the Three Lions, who headed into this summer’s tournament as the fourth-best nation in the FIFA rankings.<\/p>\n
