The official trailer for Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi has officially been revealed at Anime Expo after being teased yesterday morning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The trailer was formally revealed to a crowd of fans at Anime Expo during a panel dedicated to The Ninth Jedi, which also included a special screening of the complete first episode. The trailer was also released to the public. Check out both the English and Japanese versions below:<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Lucasfilm revealed some key talent working on the series \u2013 Kenji Kamiyama as supervising director, Shunsuke Tada as director, and Hitoshi Ito as producer \u2013 with a photoshoot:<\/p>\n

Star Wars Visions, the show that The Ninth Jedi is spinning off of, is an anthology anime\/animation series depicting standalone stories that are not necessarily canonical to the greater franchise, but exist as an exploration of the creativity of the artists working on the shorts \u2013 in this case, the team at Production I.G.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Ninth Jedi is set in the distant future of the setting where the Jedi and Sith are rare, and lightsabers are even rarer. The eponymous first short followed a group of eight Jedi refugees seeking to rearm themselves and root out traitors within their ranks, while a young woman named Lah Kara seeks to become a Jedi herself. The second short, Child of Hope, follows up on Lah Kara\u2019s journey by giving her a side quest in which she befriends a droid servant on a derelict vessel. The limited series continues the narratives of both The Ninth Jedi and Child of Hope\u00a0with a multi-episode season.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Ninth Jedi features an all-star lineup of talent in both the original Japanese recordings and in the English dub. Reprising their roles from the first and third volumes of Visions are Chinatsu Akasaki as Lah Kara, Shin-ichiro Miki as Lah Zhima, Tetsuo Kanao as Juro, Hiromu Mineta as Ethan, and Hinata Tadokoro as Homen in the original Japanese version, and Kimiko Glenn, Simu Liu, Andrew Kishino, Masi Oka, and Patrick Seitz as the English dub counterparts to the same characters. New additions to the cast have not been unveiled at this time.<\/p>\n

All episodes of Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi will release exclusively on Disney Plus and Hulu beginning August 5. Both of the previous shorts can be viewed on Disney Plus right now.<\/p>\n
