Terence Crawford insists he would have fought Conor McGregor for a nine-figure sum, but that a serious offer was never made. <\/p>\n

During the build-up to his MMA comeback against Max Holloway<\/a> on July 12, McGregor has been rehashing claims that Crawford turned down a pair of highly-lucrative crossover clashes with him.<\/a><\/p>\n

McGregor asserts that back in 2024, Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh placed $200million on the table for him and Crawford to meet in an unprecedented two-fight deal that would see them compete in both boxing and MMA. <\/p>\n

However, former pound-for-pound king of boxing Crawford remembers it differently. <\/p>\n

Crawford says McGregor claims are ‘cap’<\/p>\n

\u201dThat was a lie,\u201d Crawford told\u00a0the Ariel Helwani Show. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was cap. It wasn\u2019t never no $200 million offer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey asked me would I do it, and I told them, \u2018You ain\u2019t about to be kicking on me, Conor.\u2019 <\/p>\n

“We were on FaceTime, and I did tell him that. But they didn\u2019t say, \u2018Hey, you get $200 million. <\/p>\n

“You fight him in boxing and MMA.\u2019 That was never the case\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201dIf it was said to me, I could say there was an offer, but if nothing is previewed to me, I can\u2019t say what is what. <\/p>\n

“He\u2019s making up numbers, in my head… I would have done it. Why wouldn\u2019t I?<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t need to do it 1783057989. Back then, it would have been a good deal. <\/p>\n

“Right now, where I\u2019m sitting at right now, I don\u2019t need to do it. <\/p>\n

“I\u2019m in a different space in my life right now where I don\u2019t have to take those fights. <\/p>\n

“Back then, I probably would have took it. I would have been like, \u2018Alright, let\u2019s do it.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cConor\u2019s not the best wrestler. I\u2019m not saying I\u2019m the best wrestler either, though, but I know standing up, it\u2019s only going to take one good shot, and I\u2019m going to put him to sleep. <\/p>\n

“He\u2019s going to try to kick me, and takedowns, we\u2019re just going to do what we do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crawford would instead jump up two divisions to wrestle the undisputed super middleweight crown from Canelo Alvarez<\/a> in one of the most impressive victories of the decade. <\/p>\n

After toying with the idea of dropping down to middleweight in pursuit of a world title in a sixth separate weight, Crawford eventually hung up his gloves at the back end of 2025.<\/a><\/p>\n
