In a sweaty gym selfie video posted to social media, Benn tagged Ryan and declared: \u201cYo soy m\u00e1s Mexicano que ese cabr\u00f3n. Yo soy listo para guerra. Esta pelea es para la raza.\u201d<\/p>\n

Translated into English, Benn\u2019s message was roughly: \u201cI\u2019m more Mexican than that asshole. I\u2019m ready for war. This fight is for La Raza.\u201d He accompanied the video with the caption, \u201cPara La Raza.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just one day earlier, Ryan had responded to critics who questioned his Mexican heritage because he does not speak Spanish fluently.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s actually really frustrating being Mexican American and having to hear from my own blood and people giving me shit,\u201d Ryan wrote on X. \u201cLeave me alone. I\u2019m here representing, fighting, and enjoying my culture. USA is where I was born, and Mexico is running through my blood.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also rejected the \u201cno sabo\u201d criticism often directed at Mexican-Americans who are not fluent Spanish speakers, writing, \u201cNothing you say \u2018no sabo\u2019 he don\u2019t speak Spanish\u2019 is going to change the facts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Benn\u2019s video appeared to mock that controversy by joking that he is \u201cmore Mexican\u201d than Ryan while delivering his message in accented Spanish directly to the camera.<\/p>\n

Conor\u2019s latest post keeps the spotlight on a potential clash as both fighters continue to be linked to a September 12 bout in Las Vegas. While the bout has not been officially announced, both men have repeatedly traded verbal shots on social media, with Benn\u2019s video today keeping the spotlight firmly on a matchup that would likely draw major interest from fans on both sides of the Atlantic.<\/p>\n
