{"id":672483,"date":"2026-07-03T23:25:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T23:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/672483\/"},"modified":"2026-07-03T23:25:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T23:25:09","slug":"nottingham-forest-owner-marinakis-announces-210m-stadium-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/672483\/","title":{"rendered":"Nottingham Forest owner Marinakis announces \u00a3210m stadium plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\tFriday 03 July 2026 9:03 pm<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\u00a0|\u00a0\u00a0Updated:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tFriday 03 July 2026 9:04 pm\n\t<\/p>\n<p><img width=\"742\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1-e1783108772426.jpg\" class=\"media \" alt=\"Breaking news anchor reporting live from bustling city street with pedestrians and traffic in the background\" fetchpriority=\"high\" loading=\"eager\" decoding=\"sync\"  \/>\t\tNottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has announced a new \u00a3210m stadium\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has announced a new \u00a3210m stadium construction project as he looks to grow his football empire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plans for a 53,000-capacity arena have been submitted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olympiacos.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Greek funder<\/a>, who owns Premier League club Nottingham Forest as well as Olympiacos, Rio Ave FC and a number of other sporting franchises.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Greece will be based in Piraeus and look to include a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityam.com\/nottingham-forest-takes-major-step-in-redevelopment-of-city-ground\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">2,000-square-metre Media Centre<\/a> with a 320-seat auditorium, alongside 1,000 square metres of dedicated media workspaces\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will also be a bioclimatic roof, while one side of the stadium will focus on a multi-level hospitality offering \u2013 much like the design seen, albeit with the corners involved, at the San Francisco 49ers\u2019 Levi\u2019s Stadium.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marinakis, owner of Olympiacos FC, said: \u201cThe project, which will cost more than \u20ac250m, will be financed by Olympiacos and by me personally.
