\n Dorset Police received a report at 4.04pm of a collision involving an electric unicycle on the A338 Wessex Way between the Bournemouth West Roundabout and the Richmond Hill Roundabout.\n<\/p>\n

\n Emergency services and the rider of the electric unicycle, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.\n<\/p>\n

\n Road closures have been put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and an examination of the scene to be carried out.\n<\/p>\n

\n Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: \u201cOur thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died in this incident.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe are carrying out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I am keen to speak with any witnesses who have not already had contact with police.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI would also urge any motorists with dashcam who were in the vicinity at the time to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cFinally, I appreciate the road closures will have had an impact on traffic during a busy time, but the serious nature of this incident meant they are absolutely necessary to allow the emergency services to respond and to carry out enquiries.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
