“Disappointing today. I think the last few weeks we’ve certainly been taking some steps forward with the way we’ve been playing.<\/p>\n
“Certainly after last week, when I thought we played really well, we were looking to keep a bit of that momentum but unfortunately we’ve had a bit of a dip – a disappointing result for us.<\/p>\n
“I thought defensively we were really poor – we crumbled fairly quickly. We have to find more resilience mentally but at the moment, I don’t know if it was because it was a big occasion, big stage, but we’re professional football players and we’re too inconsistent.”<\/p>\n
York Knights coach Mark Applegarth told BBC Radio York:<\/p>\n
“We spoke about going back-to-back (wins) for the first time this year and it was really important we backed that up after the performance at Castleford.<\/p>\n
“[A] massive performance from us. I thought we started sloppy and Huddersfield were just rolling us but it was about staying patient, staying composed, and being clinical in certain aspects of the game.<\/p>\n
“I’m really pleased for Cody (Hunter). He’s coming up with better decision-making and I’m really happy with how he’s doing. Long may it continue.<\/p>\n
“We’ve got back-to-back wins now but we’re still nowhere near where we want to be so we’ve got to keep chasing that improvement and consistency.”<\/p>\n
