This has been an incredibly rough week for Sony’s reputation, and I seriously doubt that the PS Plus Essential<\/a> lineup for July is going to reverse the Japanese giant’s fortunes.<\/p>\n

Indeed, going by the comments on our announcement article<\/a>, plenty of people think this might be one of the weakest months in a long time. But as always, I want you to have your own say.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3<\/a> is the headliner, and what a headliner it is! The 2023 shooter is actually one of the series’ most poorly received instalments.<\/p>\n

At release, it was blasted for having a crappy campaign and a shockingly shoddy multiplayer slate. Based on what I’ve read, the multiplayer side of things did improve over time \u2014 but man, we’re not off to a good start here.<\/p>\n

Next up is For the King 2<\/a>, which is a decent tabletop-inspired, turn-based RPG that can be played solo or with friends. If you can get a little group together it’s worth checking out.<\/p>\n

And finally, there’s CrossCode<\/a>, another RPG with a completely different approach to gameplay. This one’s about old school, top-down action set across a sci-fi narrative, and it was met with fairly strong reviews when it launched back in 2021.<\/p>\n
