It’s undoubtedly a fact that physical releases have become less popular in recent years though, and admittedly, we don’t have the largest collection of physical Xbox Series X games ourselves. Part of it is because digital has become more convenient, but it’s also because discs don’t offer the same freedom as they used to.<\/p>\n

Back in the original Xbox and Xbox 360 generations, you could buy a disc and insert it into your console to start playing the game. Since the Xbox One era, discs have acted more like downloads – they install the required files to your console instead of booting directly off the disc, and sometimes the game is too big to fit entirely on the disc anyway.<\/p>\n

Personally, my biggest physical collection is for the Xbox 360<\/a>, and to be honest it’s one of the main reasons I keep that console plugged in at all times. I love going out to retro gaming stores and browsing the shelves for some cheap 360 games, as I know I’m buying something that will continue to work without issue for the years and decades to come.<\/p>\n
