Marsch has claimed ‘I\u2019d rather be us than them [Morocco]’ after Canada endured a 3-0 Round of 16 defeat at the hands of Africa Cup of Nations champions Morocco.<\/p>\n

Canada appeared capable of turning the event in their favour throughout the first half, before a 55th-minute Azzedine Ounahi hammer put Morocco<\/a> ahead.<\/p>\n

He followed that with a second strike in the 82nd-minute, but Morocco weren’t done. Soufiane Rahimi put the final nail in the coffin with a stoppage time clincher.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the match, in which Marsch\u2019s men created 0.86 xG (Expected Goals) and managed 10 shot attempts, the Canada boss offered an interesting take on the match.<\/p>\n

While Morocco prevailed 3-0, their chance creation was less prolific, but ruthlessly clinical, from their measly 0.78xG.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike, I\u2019m really proud of our guys. We went after the game. They\u2019re hurting right now, but my goodness, I couldn\u2019t be prouder,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

The interviewer closed his time with a thank you message from Canada<\/a>, to which Marsch thanked the nation back.<\/p>\n

When the segment cut back to FOX Sports pundits, and ex-USMNT forwards, Clint Dempsey<\/a> and Landon Donovan<\/a> in the studio, confusement settled in.<\/p>\n

The sentiment from the former United States national team legends was one of confusion, as Canada crashed out in the Round of 16 with just three shots on target.<\/p>\n
