This natural decline is largely due to a decrease in physical activity and lower testosterone levels, says Jesse Shaw, DO, associate professor of sports medicine at <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uws.edu\/faculty\/byname\/jesse_shaw\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Western States<\/a>. That\u2019s why consistent strength training is a key part of healthy aging.
