Kelly Ripa<\/a> confessed that she was \u201cvery concerned\u201d for her friend, David Muir<\/a>, during his recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Friday, July 3, the ABC World News Tonight\u00a0<\/a>anchor, 52, was a guest on Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos<\/a>\u2018 morning talk show. There, Muir discussed Disney Celebrates America<\/a>, a 24-hour event that kicked off Friday night. He had the opportunity to climb 305 feet to the top of the Statue of Liberty as the U.S. marked its 250th anniversary on July 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re doing 24 hours?\u201d Consuelos, 55, asked<\/a>, to which Muir confirmed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat, 24 hours? Shouldn\u2019t you be sleeping right now?\u201d Ripa, 55, marveled. \u201cI\u2019m very concerned.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably,\u201d Muir conceded, joking, \u201cI think I am,\u201d as he waved his hands in front of his eyes.<\/p>\n

The climbing of the Statue of Liberty aired on Friday, and it also featured Brandi Carlile<\/a> singing \u201cAmerica the Beautiful\u201d during a light show at Lady Liberty.<\/p>\n

Ripa wasn\u2019t the only person worried about Muir<\/a> when it came to his hosting Disney Celebrates America. Ahead of climbing the Statue of Liberty, he posted a photo via Instagram<\/a> of himself more than 300 feet in the air. Getting ready to take you 305 feet up,\u201d Muir captioned his update. \u201cWe climbed up through Lady Liberty\u2019s right arm to reach the torch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBe careful, David Muir, it seems very dangerous,\u201d one follower warned.<\/p>\n

Another echoed, \u201cBe careful, especially of winds!\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, someone else admitted, \u201cCan\u2019t wait. But I am so scared of heights, even if I see it on a screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

During his sit-down with Ripa and Consuelos, Muir recounted climbing a narrow ladder to get to the very top of Lady Liberty\u2019s torch. He explained, \u201cYou actually hear the photograph say to me in the raw video, \u2018OK, we\u2019re good. You wanna come back down so I can get the other angle?\u2019 I was like, \u2018I\u2019m not coming back down. We\u2019re not doing this twice.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Muir also pointed out, \u201cHere\u2019s the crazy thing, you notice it immediately: the Lady Liberty sways. She was designed that way to withstand all of the crazy weather all of these years.\u201d<\/p>\n
