The comedian said she had not appeared on any of Fallon’s shows since his Late Night days and suggested that NBC no longer wanted her on air.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve not done the Jimmy Fallon show since it was on at 12.30 eastern and pacific, so I guess I\u2019m banned from the Fallon show, or inappropriate or too controversial. I don\u2019t even know,\u201d Griffin <\/a>said in an Instagram video posted earlier this week. <\/p>\n \u201cWhen you\u2019re banned from a show \u2013 and if you guys know me, I\u2019m banned from most of them. They don\u2019t usually tell you you\u2019re banned; they just can\u2019t seem to find room for you.\u201d<\/p>\n Fallon hosted Late Night with Jimmy Fallon from 2009 until February 2014 in NBC\u2019s 12.35am slot before taking over The Tonight Show. Griffin\u2019s last appearance on The Tonight Show came in 2013, during Jay Leno\u2019s tenure as host. This means she hasn\u2019t appeared on the franchise since Fallon took over.<\/p>\n Griffin <\/a>said she bore no personal ill will towards Fallon, adding: \u201cI do like Jimmy Fallon. I\u2019ve met him a few times and when I used to do his later show, he was always super nice to me.\u201d<\/p>\n However, she called out the talk show host\u2019s decision to bring on Irish mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor<\/a>, who appeared on Fallon\u2019s show early last month to promote his comeback bout versus Max Holloway at UFC 329<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI do think it was a bad call for him to have Conor McGregor <\/a>on,\u201d Griffin said. \u201cI think the Fallon folks made a mistake by having Conor McGregor on. I think it sends yet another message to women and marginalised folks everywhere that we\u2019re not equal and you can do anything to us and the perpetrators are still gonna be out there being glorified.\u201d<\/p>\n In November 2024, a civil jury in Dublin found McGregor had assaulted a woman who accused him of having \u201cbrutally raped and battered\u201d her in a hotel in the city in December 2018. The jury found in the woman\u2019s favour<\/a> and awarded her \u20ac248,603 (\u00a3212,559) in damages. It also ordered McGregor to pay about \u20ac1.3m (\u00a31.1m) in legal costs.<\/p>\n McGregor continues to deny all allegations against him relating to the case.<\/p>\n The Independent has reached out to representatives for Fallon and McGregor for comment. <\/p>\n Griffin also brought up Fallon\u2019s 2016 interview with Donald Trump<\/a> during the presidential campaign, when he ruffled Trump\u2019s hair on air in a moment many critics said helped soften the candidate\u2019s public image<\/a>. \u201cIt kind of reminds me of when Fallon had Trump on<\/a> and then he petted his hair, or as I call it, a bird\u2019s nest<\/a>,\u201d Griffin said. \u201cThat didn\u2019t sit well with me.\u201d<\/p>\n She also called out Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels for letting the US president host the live sketch comedy show at the time. \u201cI think it\u2019s time we kind of make up our minds about who we\u2019re going to cancel and who we\u2019re not. Take it from the most cancelled celebrity in history. Look it up.
