{"id":677761,"date":"2026-07-07T02:50:17","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T02:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/677761\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T02:50:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T02:50:17","slug":"short-sharp-and-built-to-sting-zwift-doubles-paris-map-for-tour-de-france-with-montmartre-climb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/677761\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cShort, sharp and built to sting\u201d \u2013 Zwift doubles Paris map for Tour de France with Montmartre climb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the Tour de France continues, Zwift has doubled the size of its Paris map with eight new rides, which include the divisive Montmartre climb.<\/p>\n<p>The Paris <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/fitness-and-training\/zwift-worlds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zwift world<\/a> was originally created for the Virtual Tour de France, held on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/best-indoor-cycling-apps\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">indoor training app<\/a> in 2020. The route replicated the ceremonial closing stage of the men\u2019s Tour de France, which ended on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But the new update, which you can ride from today, approximately doubles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/zwift-your-complete-guide\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zwift<\/a>\u2019s Paris map and includes the Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre climb that was first raced last year and returns for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/tour-de-france-2026-route-announced\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 Tour de France route<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zwift says its Montmartre KOM is \u201cshort, sharp and built to sting\u201d, and appears alongside three new sprints: the \u00c9glise Sprint, Tchou Tchou Sprint and Monceau Sprint.<\/p>\n<p>The Montmartre climb was raced at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games before being included in last year\u2019s edition of the Tour.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of its inclusion, race favourites expressed concern over the inclusion of the cobbled climb. Remco Evenepoel highlighted how the GC favourites might lose position and therefore time, while Jonas Vingegaard stressed how narrow the old road is. Sprinter Jonathan Milan said he preferred the previous route.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet the closing stage delivered a dramatic finale to last year\u2019s race. Zwift<\/p>\n<p>Zwifters won\u2019t have to fight or space on the virtual climb or feel cobbles under their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/best-smart-trainer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">turbo trainers<\/a>, but there are eight new rides to explore in the expanded Paris Map.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cr\u00eape Escape (1.64km \/ 113m) takes in the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and the Montmartre climb in a single loop.<br \/>\nLa Boucle (16km \/ 118m) is a single loop with the Montmartre climb before a sprint finish on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es.<br \/>\nParis Toujours (69.2km \/ 448) includes three laps of the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es followed by three laps including the Champs-Elysees and Montmartre KOM via Eglise Sprint.\u00a0<br \/>\nHeart of Montmatre (74.5km \/ 500m) has three laps around the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and three laps combining the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and the Montmartre KOM via the Monceau Sprint.<br \/>\nDouble Espresso (30.5km \/ 222m) has \u201ctwo shots\u201d of the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es with two more of the Montmartre KOM.\u00a0<br \/>\n Montmartre Mixer (25.2km \/ 190m) covers all the roads in the Paris map.\u00a0<br \/>\nLoop de loop de loop (7.2km \/ 36m) is a short \u201cParis spin that is fast paced\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Zwift has also included two runs \u2013 Rues in Rythme and Paris Pacer \u2013 taking the total number of routes to 10.<\/p>\n<p>More on the 2026 Tour de France<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"As the Tour de France continues, Zwift has doubled the size of its Paris map with eight new&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":677762,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[37],"tags":[4985,101,56,54,55],"class_list":["post-677761","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cycling","tag-cycling","tag-sports","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/677761","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=677761"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/677761\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/677762"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=677761"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=677761"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=677761"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
