Fans of obscure Japanese dating sims may be excited to learn that SEGA Saturn\u2019s Sentimental Graffiti<\/a> will be revived for the PS5 by Japanese dev Entergram.<\/p>\n

Originally released in 1998, this game sees you assume the role of Tanaka Ichirou, a student who moved around a lot during middle school, meeting a variety of different girls.<\/p>\n

Now in high school, he receives a letter simply saying, \u201cI want to meet you.\u201d<\/p>\n

And so he decides to travel around Japan to all of his previous haunts, meeting with the women from his childhood to find out who sent the letter.<\/p>\n

The game was hugely inspired by Tokimeki Memorial<\/a>, which I\u2019m sure many of you are familiar with.<\/p>\n

The original never deployed outside of Japan, but it did spawn a giant multimedia empire, including an anime and even a radio drama.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As very few details about the remake are available, I\u2019ve embedded its awesome opening movie above.<\/p>\n

I suppose the hope here is that this will finally get localised and released globally, as there has been a bit more appetite for dating sims in the west of late, with the PC Engine\u2019s Dokyusei<\/a> getting a worldwide release last year \u2013 albeit without the explicit content.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve also seen games like Needy Streamer Overload<\/a> et al find audiences worldwide, which suggests the genre isn\u2019t quite as niche as it once was.<\/p>\n

Entergram says it\u2019ll announce more about the remake in due course, and I\u2019m crossing my fingers this extends to a western release as well.<\/p>\n
