<\/p>\nCraig Named PCA Men\u2019s Player of the Month<\/p>\n
Craig Overton has won the PCA Player of the Month award, having dominated the public vote in June.<\/p>\n
Craig was shortlisted for the awards using the PCA\u2019s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX. The unique algorithm selected the top four men\u2019s and women\u2019s players before they faced a public vote, with the winners decided by a 50:50 split between the two.<\/p>\n
Having been nominated every month so far in 2026, Overton picks up his second trophy of the season after winning April\u2019s award. The all-rounder secured 130.18 MVP points in June, earning 37.47 points with the bat and 64.72 with the ball, alongside securing 65 per cent of the public vote to win the trophy. Lancashire\u2019s Liam Livingstone finished second with Surrey\u2019s Dan Lawrence in third and Warwickshire\u2019s Beau Webster in fourth.<\/p>\n
In the women\u2019s game, Bouchier earnt 145.12 MVP points in June with 134.12 points coming from her bat. The Hampshire opener claimed 50 per cent of the public vote to finish ahead of teammate Georgia Adams in second. The Blaze\u2019s Charli Knott came third with another Hampshire player in Amanda-Jade Wellington finishing fourth.<\/p>\n

Overton\u2019s impressive year continued in June scoring 205 runs at an average of 34.16, alongside taking 12 wickets across formats with a commanding average of 20.66.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old won a Match MVP against Worcestershire in the Blast and 21.33 MVP points for figures 1-22 including a maiden coming from his four overs and an innings of 26 off 18 balls.<\/p>\n
Another Match MVP came in the longer format against Warwickshire as Overton earnt 41.75 MVP points for figures of 2-44, five catches and an innings of 111 off 232 balls in a partnership of 233 with Thomas Rew. Overton also took figures of 5-29 against Nottinghamshire in the County Championship.<\/p>\n

On winning June\u2019s award, Overton said: \u201cIt\u2019s a great feeling. I feel like my form has carried on and it\u2019s nice to contribute to the team. We had two positive results in the Championship and even though the Blast has not quite gone to plan, I still feel like I\u2019m contributing to the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be top of the MVP is a great sign. It\u2019s showing that I\u2019m performing for my team and that\u2019s all I want to do. I want to make sure that I\u2019m trying to win games for Somerset and that means taking wickets and scoring runs.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully we\u2019re starting to get a few more players back from injury as get into the crunch part of the T20 now and then we have a little break with The Hundred. It\u2019s then about making sure that we\u2019re all ready for the back end of the summer to push for those final six games and having a right good crack at winning the Championship for the first time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI still want to play for England but for me it\u2019s about concentrating on Somerset and then if the call up happens, the call up happens. I\u2019m not thinking too much about it at the minute. I\u2019ve been out the side for three or four years now, so I just want to make sure that I\u2019m performing for Somerset, and if I don\u2019t get the call, then I know I\u2019ve done everything I can to be picked, and sometimes that\u2019s life, it doesn\u2019t happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
