\n Founded in 1901, Chester Golf Club has been part of the city’s sporting landscape for 125 years.\n<\/p>\n
\n To celebrate the occasion, the club looked to the history that makes Chester unique, embracing a Roman theme throughout the anniversary celebrations as a nod to the city’s world-famous heritage.\n<\/p>\n
\n The day’s centrepiece was the CXXV Deva Victory Celebration Competition, an anniversary AMAM event with a Roman twist, where a total of 136 golfers, competing in teams of four, enjoyed a memorable day on the course, combining competitive golf with celebrations worthy of the landmark occasion.\n<\/p>\n
\n The celebrations continued into the evening as members and guests gathered for a special 125th anniversary dinner.\n<\/p>\n
\n An Italian-themed buffet paid homage to Roman culture, while two Roman Centurions welcomed guests to add an extra special touch to the occasion.\n<\/p>\n
\n The festivities concluded with a Motown performance from Andy Kayne, ensuring the anniversary was celebrated in style.\n<\/p>\n
\n Men’s Captain Nick Stark said: \u201cCelebrating 125 years is an incredibly proud moment for Chester Golf Club.\n<\/p>\n

\n A lasting legacy of the anniversary has also been created with the installation of an intricately carved wooden wolf behind the 13th green.\n<\/p>\n
\n Inspired by the wolf on the club logo, the sculpture will remain a permanent feature of the course for members and visitors to enjoy for generations to come.\n<\/p>\n
