Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings says inconsistency is to blame for their results in this year’s T20 Blast.<\/p>\n

With two games to play in the group stages, Lancashire are third in the North Group after a dramatic tie with Derbyshire<\/a> on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

But their hopes of reaching the knockout stages for a ninth straight season are hanging by a thread, having won only four of their 10 matches.<\/p>\n

“It’s been inconsistent at best,” Jennings told BBC Radio Lancashire of his side’s form.<\/p>\n

“When you look at all three phases – bat, ball and field – I don’t think we’ve been at our best.<\/p>\n

“We haven’t been able to put together 240 balls of good, competitive cricket consistently.<\/p>\n

“We haven’t quite been able to nail the entire game and close it out in a clinical old-school Lancashire fashion.”<\/p>\n

Four of Lancashire’s last five games in the competition have gone down to the last ball, but they have only won one of those.<\/p>\n

In the tie with Derbyshire, Matty Hurst was bowled off the final delivery when any run would have secured victory, while against Notts Outlaws on Friday, they were 149-3 in the 16th over chasing 182 and ended up losing by one run.<\/p>\n

Now with a Roses clash against Yorkshire on Friday and then Durham to finish on Sunday, both at Emirates Old Trafford, the Red Rose are in must-win territory.<\/p>\n

“We are still in with a chance,” said Jennings. “We do need results to go our way now but we need to make sure the next two games are wins and we get the best third place.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings says inconsistency is to blame for their results in this year’s T20 Blast.
