href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/late-late-show\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/late-late-show\/\">The Late Late Show<\/a> for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/late-late-show\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/late-late-show\/\">programme\u2019s 65th season<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">There had been speculation over whether Kielty would return after his contract expired about nine weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/rte\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/rte\/\">RT\u00c9<\/a> confirmed on Tuesday that Kielty signed a new three-year deal which will allow for up to 30 episodes per season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The comedian and TV presenter from Co Down succeeded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/ryan-tubridy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/ryan-tubridy\/\">Ryan Tubridy<\/a> in the presenter\u2019s chair in 2023. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cHosting The Late Late Show is one of the greatest gigs in the world and the past three years have been a joy and a privilege,\u201d Kielty said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe heart of the show will always be our amazing audience and I can\u2019t wait to be part of their Friday nights again from this September.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Kielty is the fourth permanent presenter of the programme, following in the footsteps of Tubridy, Pat Kenny and Gay Byrne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-it-article-body__interstitial-link\">[\u00a0<a aria-label=\"Open related RT\u00c9, the 2025\/26 season of The Late Late show had an average audience of 385,000 viewers per episode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The broadcaster is yet to confirm a date for the
