\n They defeated\u00a0Lashings, the self-styled best club cricket side in the world, in the final over of their T20 contest in front of a packed crowd at Jenny Lane.\n<\/p>\n
\n Lashings, who included West Indian greats Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh and were captained as usual by Chris Schofield, were restricted to 134-8 from their 20 overs.\n<\/p>\n
\n Schofield top scored with 39 at No.3, Kiwi Aaron Redmond backing him up with 29.\n<\/p>\n
\n Sharp took 3-14 from his four overs, while 14-year-old Michael Hannan forming part of the Baildon attack.\n<\/p>\n
\n Neither Will Kelly nor captain James Skingle made much impression in the second innings, but a stand of 64 between Reynolds (55) and guest player Harry Dearden (50no) put Baildon back on track.\n<\/p>\n
\n The result was put in doubt by a double-wicket maiden by Pakistani pace bowler Yasir Arafat (3-17 from four overs).\n<\/p>\n
\n But Dearden helped Baildon to a four-wicket win, finishing things in style with a straight six off Schofield off the second ball of the last over.\n<\/p>\n

\n Commentary for the first innings was provided by former Test Match Special icon Henry Blofeld, while the umpires were Roman Chimolowsky and Trevor Heylings, assisted by Jolyon Dobbs, with Noel Bullock scoring.\n<\/p>\n
\n Cheshire T20 captain Dearden, 29, was Baildon\u2019s only guest player and explained: \u201cSome of my relatives are involved at Baildon so I got the call early in the week to play.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI like playing in these sort of games, having played for my club Woodbank in a few PCA (Professional Cricketers\u2019 Association) games.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI was a bit anxious beforehand, but it was a good game of cricket on a good pitch.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe were happy to keep them to about 130 as we bowled and fielded well, and then we kept wickets in hand as you always expect to lose a couple of wickets early on in T20, but we generally had one batter in who had a decent score.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cYasir Arafat is still really good. I have watched him on television and he nailed his yorkers so it was really enjoyable to face him.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cBut I have been hitting the ball well recently so it was nice to have a bat.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Reynolds, who has scored over 10,000 runs for Baildon, said of the day: \u201cThis has been absolutely brilliant.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cTo see some of these huge names at our ground is surreal, incredible, but they will probably say that they were a few runs short.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThey had some good players up front, but we got them relatively early and we were definitely in the game.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThen we timed our run chase well, after a slight wobble late on with that double-wicket maiden, but it was a great game of cricket and a great example of a great day out.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cCourtney Walsh had a few choice words to say to me when I played and missed at a few balls, but just to see him running in was surreal to say the very least and I was lucky not to get out.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt was packed in the marquee for the lunch and it was loud and raucous when the cricket was on.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cBut lots of hard work has gone into this in the background from (chairman) Ashley Free and co and I know that it wasn\u2019t easy.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI am pleased that it has come to fruition and been as good as it has.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Proceeds from the game will go to Baildon CC, while\u00a0Lashings\u00a0raised funds for Macmillan Caring Locally, a hospice in Christchurch, near Bournemouth.\n<\/p>\n
