The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has today (8 July 2026) approved the medicine\u00a0nerandomilast (Jascayd)\u00a0to treat\u00a0adults with a lung disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis (PPF).\u00a0<\/p>\n
IPF and PPF are conditions where the lung tissue becomes scarred over time\u00a0and as a result breathing becomes increasingly difficult.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The active ingredient,\u00a0nerandomilast, helps\u00a0to\u00a0regulate the immune system and reduces tissue scarring\u00a0on\u00a0the lungs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The medicine can only be obtained with a prescription and should be taken exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has prescribed. The recommended dose is an 18mg tablet taken orally twice a day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The most common side effects\u00a0of\u00a0nerandomilast,\u00a0which may affect more than 1 in 10 people,\u00a0are\u00a0diarrhoea\u00a0and weight loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n
