Ahead of his potential ring return, which is now reportedly set for early 2027, Gervonta Davis<\/a> has offered to collide with one of the sport\u2019s all-time greats.<\/p>\n

Initially, it appeared as though \u2018Tank\u2019 would enter a comeback fight later this year, having not fought since his controversial draw against Lamont Roach in March 2025.<\/p>\n

Floyd Schofield, at first, represented a potential opponent, only for Davis to pull out of negotiations for their ordered WBA title clash.<\/p>\n

Instead, Schofield has now been ordered to face Lucas Bahdi for the vacant world title, with \u2018Tank\u2019 having been made the sanctioning body\u2019s \u2018champion in recess\u2019 at 135lbs.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old was then in talks to collide with WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney, who has been ordered to face mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis.<\/p>\n

In any case, \u2018The Dream\u2019 is no longer looking to face \u2018Tank\u2019 in 2026, with it reported that the American\u2019s advisor, Al Haymon, is expecting his client to return early next year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to The Ring<\/a>, Davis is also eyeing a potential clash with Floyd Mayweather, his former promoter and mentor, who he has reportedly called out on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll take Floyd too. Tell \u2018em suit up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayweather was set to return to a professional ring against Manny Pacquiao this September, only for a number of issues to scupper their rematch and seemingly push it back to 2027<\/a> at the earliest.<\/p>\n
