The 2026 Primetime Emmy nominations<\/a> have finally arrived after a year of goodbyes to major Emmy-winning series like \u201cHacks,\u201d \u201cEuphoria,\u201d and \u201cStranger Things.\u201d<\/p>\n

This television season has been a trickier one for Emmy predictions<\/a>, as there have not been as many undeniable breakout TV<\/a> hits on both a critical and commercial level besides \u201cPluribus\u201d on Apple TV, led by Rhea Seehorn<\/a>, who was an IndieWire Honors<\/a> recipient in June.<\/p>\n

At around 24,000 members, the Television Academy<\/a> has spent most of the year making their way through hundreds of series, including reigning Outstanding Drama Series winner \u201cThe Pitt\u201d on HBO Max, or past Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series winner \u201cBeef,\u201d as well as more new shows like \u201cLove Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette\u201d or \u201cMargo\u2019s Got Money Troubles,\u201d with their nominations voting period wrapping on Monday, June 22.<\/p>\n

\"'Trying'<\/a> \"'Unhinged'\"<\/a> <\/p>\n

Speaking of \u201cThe Pitt\u201d and \u201cHacks,\u201d it was a particularly huge year for both HBO Max series, as the former was the most nominated drama with 25 nominations, while the latter broke the record for most nominations for a single season of a comedy with 24 nominations for its final season.<\/p>\n

Apple TV also continues to grow into an Emmys<\/a> juggernaut, receiving three nominations in both the Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series categories.<\/p>\n

This year, the nominations were announced<\/a> by recent Emmy winners Liza Col\u00f3n-Zayas (\u201cThe Bear\u201d) and Jeff Hiller (\u201cSomebody Somewhere\u201d), during a livestream from the Wolf Theatre in the Academy\u2019s Saban Media Center.<\/p>\n

The 78th annual Primetime\u00a0Emmy Awards<\/a>\u00a0are scheduled to take place on Monday, September 14, live on NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET\/ 5:00 p.m. PT. \u201cLaw & Order: SVU\u201d star Mariska Hargitay will serve as host of the awards<\/a> ceremony.<\/p>\n
