It\u2019s not too late. There\u2019s still over a month to go until Mutiny \u2013 the latest hard-man action outing from premiere action hard-man Jason Statham, this time directed by Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Richet \u2013 comes to UK cinemas in late August. Now, real Richet-heads will know that the director\u2019s previous film was 2023\u2019s Plane<\/a>. You know, the one with the plane, starring Gerard Butler as the pilot of said plane, forced to land the plane in hostile territory, and protect the plane-folk from a militarised group. In Mutiny, Statham\u2019s Cole Reed is framed for the murder of his billionaire boss, and boards a boat to exact his plan of revenge, taking out the boat-folk only to stumble on a bigger boat-plot. We\u2019re all thinking it: it should be called \u2018Boat\u2019. Here\u2019s the trailer:<\/p>\n

This looks like more straight-up action cinema from Statham, who already in the last couple of years has given us The Beekeeper<\/a>, A Working Man<\/a>, and Shelter<\/a>. And, lest we forget, next year brings The Beekeeper 2, and the brilliantly-titled Jason Statham Stole My Bike<\/a> in which he\u2019ll play \u2013 you guessed it \u2013 Jason Statham. Mutiny sees him co-star with fellow Brit actors Annabelle Wallis, Adrian Lester, and Jason Wong; Statham also produces the film.<\/p>\n

Mutiny is set to take over cinemas \u2013 by force, if necessary \u2013 on August 21, and will arrive beyond that on Sky Cinema in the UK. Here\u2019s hoping they\u2019ve decided to call it \u2018Boat\u2019 by that point. And why not go deeper into the Richet-verse and give us a Plane and Mutiny crossover?
