Rather than liking Joshua\u2019s measured response when asked about the all-British showdown, Nelson felt he should have projected more aggression and certainty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the wrong answer,\u201d Nelson said to talkSPORT Boxing about Joshua not showing backbone with Fury. \u201cYou get in there, you bark at him and make him think I\u2019ve got to deal with this here. I didn\u2019t like that. That didn\u2019t fill me with confidence. I wasn\u2019t sold by it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joshua recently revealed that training alongside Oleksandr Usyk has inspired him, particularly by watching the unified heavyweight champion\u2019s dedication to prayer and disciplined approach to training. Joshua said those were qualities he wanted to adopt as he prepares for the final stage of his career.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson wasn\u2019t convinced that was the answer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019ve got faith, you\u2019ve got faith. I don\u2019t need to see how you pray. He\u2019s saying, \u2018I see him pray. I see how he was motivated.\u2019 You should have that within you. That\u2019s deep down inside,\u201d Nelson said.<\/p>\n<p>While Nelson believes Joshua has learned important lessons from recent setbacks and respects his decision to humble himself by training in Usyk\u2019s camp, he still questions whether the 36-year-old has fully rebuilt his confidence after suffering a knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois and losing twice to Usyk by decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy worry with Anthony Joshua is that the Joshua that fought Dubois is what\u2019s going to turn up, and if it does, it\u2019s not going to be good enough,\u201d Nelson said.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua is scheduled to return on July 25 against Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before an expected showdown with Tyson Fury later this year.
