Scottie Scheffler made his feelings known after repeatedly being asked about the Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n

The world number one spoke to reporters ahead of the this weekend’s BMW Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, he threatened to cut the press conference short after yet another question about next month’s event<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scheffler<\/a> will appear at his third Ryder Cup<\/a> at Bethpage Black after securing one of six automatic spots on Team USA.<\/p>\n

This week, though, he is continuing his FedEx Cup play-off campaign at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland.<\/p>\n

After being asked about the Ryder Cup, the 29-year-old hit back: “I mean, I love answering all these questions about the Ryder Cup guys but this is ridiculous.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re at the BMW Championship. The Ryder Cup is over a month away.<\/p>\n

“If you want to talk about this week, let\u2019s talk about this week. If not, I\u2019ve got practice to do. I\u2019m getting ready for a golf tournament.”<\/p>\n

Scheffler is fresh from finishing tied-third at last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship.<\/p>\n

Justin Rose claimed victory at the opening FedEx Cup play-off event after beating J.J. Spaun in a play-off.<\/p>\n

The top 50 players in the FedEx Cup rankings have progressed to the BMW Championship.<\/p>\n

Scheffler tops the charts after another impressive year and tees off alongside Rory McIlroy<\/a> for their opening round on Thursday.<\/p>\n

McIlroy returns to action after skipping the previous tournament<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Masters champion put the decision down to a hectic upcoming schedule<\/a> with the Tour Championship and Ryder Cup to come.<\/p>\n

Next weekend’s Tour Championship will consist of the top 30 in the FedEx Cup rankings following the BMW Championship.<\/p>\n

Scheffler is chasing his first victory in the event this week after a couple of near misses.<\/p>\n

His two top three finishes include a tie for second behind Viktor Hovland in 2023.<\/p>\n

Team USA’s Ryder Cup picks<\/p>\n

This weekend will also see the six automatic Ryder Cup picks for Team USA<\/a> finalised.<\/p>\n

The top six ranked players after Sunday’s final round will receive a spot on Keegan Bradley’s team.<\/p>\n

Scheffler is already guaranteed a place alongside US Open champion Spaun and Xander Scauffele.<\/p>\n

Heading into the BMW Championship, Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau and Harris English make up the top six.<\/p>\n

As for Team Europe, Luke Donald’s automatic picks will not be confirmed for another week.<\/p>\n

Half of his team will be finalised after the British Masters on August 24.<\/p>\n
