Jeff Bezos is mourning the loss of his mother, Jacklyn \u201cJackie\u201d Bezos, who has died at the age of 78.<\/p>\n
The sad news comes just weks after Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez held a lavish, multi-million dollar wedding in Venice, Italy.<\/a> The event reportedly cost around \u00a340 million and drew a star-studded guest list.<\/p>\n In a heartfelt tribute, the Foundation described Jackie as \u201cthe true meaning of grit and determination, kindness and service to others\u201d \u2014 values she passed on to her children and grandchildren. In a lengthy statement the messag added: “Although Jackie may be gone from our sight, her love remains with us always\u2014a bright shining light that will never fade. That couldn\u2019t have been easy, but she made it all work. She pounced on the job of loving me with ferocity, brought my amazing dad onto the team a few years later, and then added my sister and brother to her list of people to love, guard, and nourish. For the rest of her life, that list of people to love never stopped growing. She always gave so much more than she ever asked for.<\/p>\n “After a long fight with Lewy Body Dementia, she passed away today, surrounded by so many of us who loved her \u2014 her kids, grandkids, and my dad. I know she felt our love in those final moments. We were all so lucky to be in her life. I hold her safe in my heart forever.”<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n Jeff’s wife Lauren commented: “We will miss her SO much. Love you.” Other followers shared their condolences with one writing: “She was so special and so loved. What a life legacy your family will carry on forever.
