A local filmmaker has got in touch with Brixton Buzz asking for help in finding people to appear in a short \u2018mockumentary\u2019 about gentrification, which will be filming on Saturday, 11th July 2026.<\/p>\n

ACTORS WANTED to film alongside Demmy Lapido (The Kitchen \u2013 Netflix, Dreaming Whilst Black \u2013 BBC) Dario Coates (You \u2013 Netflix) and Natalie Dunne (Trying \u2013 Apple TV) in a new mockumentary COMEDY short called SMASHED AVOCADO. Written by Sophie McKay and Endy McKay. Produced by The McKay Sisters, Femi Oyeniran and Natalie Duval. Directed by Sophie and Endy.<\/p>\n

This is an UNPAID opportunity (unfortunately we have a micro budget at this stage) but we will provide lunch and a fun few hours! Must be over 18 years.<\/p>\n

We are looking for both featured and supporting artists to make up a Pentecostal church congregation.<\/p>\n

We are particularly looking for actors with African or Caribbean heritage \u2013 ideally over the age of 40. Experience of pentecostal church a plus.<\/p>\n

Some roles will include dialogue so this would suit people looking for screen experience, potential showreel material and the prospect of being involved in a new comedy screen project in its early stages that tackles hyper gentrification.<\/p>\n

FILMING THIS SATURDAY 11th JULY 2026 IN BRIXTON 11AM-4PM. Artists must be free for the whole duration. Submission DEADLINE Thursday at 5pm but there is a limited amount of parts so get in quick and hopefully see you on set!<\/p>\n
