Middlesex have announced the appointment of Julie Harrington as the county’s interim chief executive officer.<\/p>\n

Harrington, the former CEO of British Cycling and the British Horseracing Authority, said she was looking forward to “bringing her experience” to the club.<\/p>\n

Her appointment comes after chief executive, Andrew Cornish, was placed on a leave of absence, external<\/a> amid an investigation being carried out by the Cricket Regulator. <\/p>\n

In March, former England captain Mike Gatting and a group of high-profile former Middlesex players wrote to members<\/a> after calling on the club’s chair, Richard Sykes, to resign over what they said was the poor running of the club.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Sykes said Harrington’s “extensive leadership experience across major sports” would be invaluable to the club.<\/p>\n

“Together, we remain focused on providing stability for our people, supporting our players, members and staff, and ensuring Middlesex continues to move forward with confidence and purpose,” he added.<\/p>\n
