We’ve done Pau, made our way up to Bordeaux, and the general classification is already done … just kidding. Well, maybe it is. Either way it doesn’t matter a hoot to us, we’re always more interested in the things other than which fast boy won the bicycle race. So let’s get going.<\/p>\n Everyone who watches the Tour de France will have seen Didi the Devil, or Der Teufel, jumping up and down at the side of the road on many occasions.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, he missed stage 1 of this year’s race in Barcelona because his campervan had been broken into. According to El Diable, Dieter ‘Didi’ Senft (74) had a mini-fridge containing ham and cheese, a toothbrush and a comb, and a loudspeaker all stolen from his vehicle.<\/p>\n Didi thanked those who assisted him in reporting the robbery to the police, and has since covered up the smashed window with “devilishly elegant red cloth.”<\/p>\n Thankfully, his pitchfork hadn’t been stolen, which we saw on our drive down from Gavarnie-G\u00e8dre after stage 6.<\/p>\n Uno-X Mobility rider Torstein Tr\u00e6en’s time in the yellow jersey came to a sad and premature end as he dropped early on the Tourmalet, crashed on the descent, and heroically made it to the finish before abandoning the Tour overnight.<\/p>\n But on the plus side, his teammate’s calls for singletons to get in touch (as Tr\u00e6en is currently unspoken for in the girlfriend department) have left him with an overflowing inbox.<\/p>\n “I have now put Torstein to bed and we ask that you wait for tomorrow with more messages and congratulations, he will need his beauty sleep,” Tr\u00e6en’s roommate for the Tour Anders Halland Johannessen posted on Instagram the night the Norwegian took the race lead, before providing the caveat: “(exception if you are looking for a serious relationship and like his friendly smile)”.<\/p>\n The next day Johannessen gave us more information.<\/p>\n This post is for paying subscribers only Already have an account?
