Morriston Hospital has experienced a number of complaints due to high temperatures<\/p>\n
A Welsh health board has apologised after patients and staff complained about high temperatures inside Morriston Hospital as Wales experiences its third heatwave of the year.<\/p>\n
A member of staff at the Swansea-based hospital claimed there had been issues with the availability of air conditioning units at the site prompting concerns from a number of patients about the conditions on the wards.<\/p>\n
“We’re getting more and more complaints from patients and obviously staff are suffering as well,” they said.<\/p>\n
The apology came as temperatures continued to soar across Wales with Friday marking the hottest day of the current heatwave so far.<\/p>\n
Temperatures climbed above 30C in many places across Wales once again with Monmouth being the hottest and reaching highs of 32C. Never miss a Swansea story by signing up to our newsletter here<\/a><\/p>\n In a statement Swansea<\/a> Bay University Health Board acknowledged the difficulties caused by the hot weather<\/a> and apologised to those affected.<\/p>\n A spokesman said: “We\u2019d like to apologise to patients and their families who are currently experiencing high temperatures at our Morriston Hospital site.<\/p>\n “The current period of hot weather is challenging and we are doing everything possible to reduce the impact of high temperatures at all our hospital sites.<\/p>\n “We would like to thank patients for their understanding.<\/p>\n “We\u2019d also like to thank all our staff who are doing everything they can to look after our patients during this latest spell of hot weather.”<\/p>\n Get daily breaking news updates on your phone by joining our WhatsApp community here<\/a>.
