A 12-year-old boy has been arrested and is in custody to be questioned<\/p>\n

A teenage boy suffered serious injuries to his face after he is believed to have been pushed off his bike into a parked vehicle. Emergency services were called to Kirkstone Avenue in St Helens<\/a> after a 16-year-old boy, who was cycling down the road, was pushed off his bike by a male on an electric scooter.<\/p>\n

The teen was then involved in a collision with a parked Vauxhall Corsa. The person on the electric scooter left the scene, Merseyside Police<\/a> said. The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face following the incident.<\/p>\n

An investigation is now underway while officers remain at the scene to carry out enquiries. A 12-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in custody and enquiries remain ongoing.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Ruth Tickle said: “These are the early stages of our investigation as we establish what has taken place.<\/p>\n

“I would urge anyone who was in the area of Kirkstone Avenue who witnessed the incident or has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage to come forward and speak to us.”<\/p>\n
