\n\tSam Fender <\/a>and Olivia Dean<\/a> have reached a historic milestone as \u201cRein Me In\u201d spends its 16th week at the summit, becoming the longest-running No. 1 single by a British act in U.K. chart history (dated July 10).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe collab overtakes Wet Wet Wet<\/a>\u2018s \u201cLove Is All Around,\u201d which held the record for more than 30 years after spending 15 weeks at No. 1 in 1994. The song also draws level with Bryan Adams<\/a>\u2018 1991 hit \u201c(Everything I Do) I Do It for You\u201d\u2019 as the joint second longest-running No. 1 single of all time on the Official U.K. Singles Chart<\/a>, behind Frankie Laine\u2019s \u201cI Believe,\u201d which topped the chart for 18 weeks in 1953.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe achievement marks another remarkable chapter in the run of \u201cRein Me In.\u201d Released more than a year ago, the duet took 35 weeks from its chart debut to reach No. 1, setting a record for the longest climb to the summit when it finally topped the chart in February.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cRein Me In\u201d first appeared on Fender\u2019s Mercury Prize-winning 2025 album\u00a0People Watching, and was remixed last summer with a new verse from Dean. It later triumphed in the public-voted song of the year category at the 2026 BRIT Awards.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking on the achievement Fender told the Official Charts Company said, \u201cIt\u2019s been ridiculous! Every Friday,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0been an excuse to party. Take that, Marti Pellow! Olivia putting the alternative narrative on it\u00a0made the song\u00a0really\u00a0universal\u00a0\u2013 that opened the floodgates.\u00a0There\u2019s\u00a0two sides to the story.\u00a0And,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a toe tapper!\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0officially a banger!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOlivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cStupid Song\u201d stays at No. 2, followed by Ariana Grande\u2019s \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me\u201d at No. 3. Michael Jackson\u2019s \u201cBillie Jean\u201d lands at No. 4 and Ella Langley\u2019s \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d lifts four spots to No. 5.<\/p>\n
