As Karol\u00edna Muchov\u00e1 looks to win her first Grand Slam at Wimbledon today, her parents Josef Mucha and Hana Muchov\u00e1 will be supporting her.<\/p>\n

Karol\u00edna Muchov\u00e1\u2019s dad, Josef Mucha<\/p>\n

Josef Mucha, born in Prost\u011bjov, Czechoslovakia on July 10, 1967 (he turned 59 yesterday!), is a former professional soccer player. He played for 11 seasons in the Czech First League, and now works as as a coach, and is currently the head coach<\/a> for the U-19 team for SK Sigma Olomouc.<\/p>\n

\u201cKarol\u00edna and [my] son Filip [Much] grew up with me when I was a football player and they played more sports,\u201d Josef said<\/a> in a 2024 interview. \u201cK\u00e1ja is good at many sports. We still have a basketball ball, a handball ball, badminton rackets, and squash rackets in the basement. They were both good at everything.\u201d Karol\u00edna\u2019s brother, Filip Mucha, is a goalkeeper for SK Han\u00e1ck\u00e1 Slavia Krom\u011b\u0159\u00ed\u017e.<\/p>\n

Karol\u00edna credits her dad for her interest in tennis. \u201cMy father played professional soccer in the first league in Czech. My brother and I did many sports when we were kids,\u201d she said<\/a>. She added of Josef, \u201c he taught us how to move. We were looking up at him, going for football matches to cheer on him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josef is a tennis player, too, though he never played professionally. \u201cI like to play tennis, it\u2019s a great complementary sport. Actively, I think, this is the only one, roller skating, and cycling in the summer,\u201d he said<\/a> in 2024. He enjoys watching his daughter play, adding, \u201cI like the world of tennis, it\u2019s a bit different than football, a different world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karol\u00edna Muchov\u00e1\u2019s mom, Hana Muchov\u00e1<\/p>\n

There\u2019s less information available online about Karol\u00edna\u2019s mom, Hana, but she regularly appears on Karol\u00edna\u2019s Instagram, suggesting she frequently travels with her daughter on tour.<\/p>\n
