{"id":686620,"date":"2026-07-11T21:31:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T21:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/686620\/"},"modified":"2026-07-11T21:31:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T21:31:07","slug":"man-dies-after-falling-from-birmingham-childrens-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/686620\/","title":{"rendered":"Man dies after falling from Birmingham Children&#8217;s Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">A man has died after falling from <a class=\"qNUzV q7LZa\" data-testid=\"next-link-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itv.com\/news\/topic\/birmingham-childrens-hospital\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Birmingham Children&#8217;s Hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">Emergency services were called to the hospital shortly before 10am Friday morning (July 10th). <\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">Birmingham Women&#8217;s and Children&#8217;s NHS Foundation Trust said the man was working on construction at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">BSN Group Construction confirmed the incident and said their thoughts are with the man&#8217;s family and friends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">They also said they are working with <a class=\"qNUzV q7LZa\" data-testid=\"next-link-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itv.com\/news\/topic\/west-midlands-police\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">West Midlands Police<\/a> and the Health and Safety Executive with their investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">A spokesperson for BSN Group Construction site said: &#8220;We are saddened to confirm that a person has died following an incident at our construction site at Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital on Friday, 10 July.\u201cOur thoughts are with their family, friends and colleagues at this extremely difficult time.\u201cWe take health and safety very seriously, and we are assisting the police, the Health and Safety Executive and all relevant authorities with their enquiries.\u201cAs investigations are ongoing, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">Birmingham Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s NHS Foundation Trust said: \u201cThere has been an incident at a construction site at Birmingham Children&#8217;s Hospital.\u201cAnd our sympathies are with the family and friends of the individual involved. Support is being provided to those who have been affected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: \u201cWe were called to Birmingham Children&#8217;s Hospital after a man is understood to have fallen from the building at just before 9.50am today (10 July).&#8221;The man was sadly confirmed dead a short time later and our thoughts are with his loved ones.&#8221;We are liaising with the Health &amp; Safety Executive as enquiries continue.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">Want a quick and expert briefing on the biggest news stories?
