{"id":687312,"date":"2026-07-12T07:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T07:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/687312\/"},"modified":"2026-07-12T07:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T07:58:09","slug":"anti-immigration-posters-placed-on-bonfires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/687312\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-immigration posters placed on bonfires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A large anti-immigration poster, which includes pictures of NI politicians, has been placed on a bonfire next to a playground in north Belfast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The image, prominently positioned on a bonfire on Shore Crescent, depicts a herd of sheep walking through a gate to a group of masked men armed with knives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The banner, draped from the bonfire, also includes images of small boats and depictions of political parties Sinn F\u00e9in, SDLP, Alliance Party and People Before Profit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A number of other anti-immigration slogans and images have also been prominently displayed at other bonfire sites across the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The poster in north Belfast says: &#8220;Open gates open borders open season.
