There’s some disappointing news for American Horror Story<\/a> fans as season 13 has lost a much-anticipated cast member just as filming has begun. The 13th season has already encountered some back luck, with Ariana Grande reportedly exiting the project.<\/p>\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Grande has left the show due to scheduling conflicts. The actress and singer is currently on her Eternal Sunshine tour, which is scheduled to conclude on August 23.<\/p>\n

Fans of the anthology series had been very excited when Grande’s casting was announced in October<\/a> last year. The project would have seen her once again working with Ryan Murphy, who co-created 2015’s Scream Queens.<\/p>\n

However, the new season of American Horror Story already has a stacked cast with Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, and Jessica Lange all reprising their Coven characters from season three.<\/p>\n

Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman are also returning. Earlier this week, cast members including Roberts and Paulson were pictured filming in New York City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The logline for season 13 reads: “An unrivalled 13th instalment that will do justice to everyone\u2019s most feared number. Bringing together an all-star cast, many of whom are reprising fan favourite roles, American Horror Story: 13 continues to build on the anthology\u2019s decades-long legacy that has been streamed more than 700 million hours across the globe and spawned a legion of dedicated fans. <\/p>\n

“American Horror Story has redefined the genre with various instalments featuring a creepy murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself.<\/p>\n

“Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise.”<\/p>\n

The series will premiere in the US on Thursday, September 24 on FX and will stream internationally on Disney+.<\/p>\n

Bassett had previously expressed her joy at getting to return as her Coven character Marie Laveau, telling Entertainment Tonight<\/a> that she “loved” the role and had wished it “came sooner”.<\/p>\n

Bassett added: “You had the incredible Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, myself and a slew of wonderful young actors such as Emma and Gabourey. It was so much fun. With that story, you could be over-the-top and witchy.”<\/p>\n
