A teenage boy has been taken to hospital with head injuries after falling 15 metres (50ft) down an embankment in Plymouth woodland.<\/p>\n

Fire and ambulance crews were called to Amados Drive on the edge of Plympton<\/a> at 3.55pm today, Sunday, July 12.<\/p>\n

The 13-year-old boy had fallen down what was described as a bank in a wooded area and ended up on a footpath.<\/p>\n

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: \u201cHe had suffered head injuries and possibly back injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fire crews were able to get the boy onto a stretcher and back up the bank to the road. He was then taken to Derriford Hospital<\/a> by a land ambulance.<\/p>\n

At about the same time the Devon Air Ambulance landed at Underwood Recreation Ground, in Plympton<\/a>, but it is not known if this was in response to the boy\u2019s fall.<\/p>\n
