Nottinghamshire: Joe Clarke c, George Munsey, Jack Haynes, Tom Moores w, Freddie McCann, George Linde, Benny Howell, Liam Patterson-White, Olly Stone, Binura Fernando, Dillon Pennington.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Summary: Yorkshire are through to the quarter-finals of the Vitality Blast after claiming an impressive, and entertaining 18-run victory over North Group winners Nottinghamshire this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Bowled out for 193, they then reduced the Outlaws to 56-4 just outside of the powerplay and never looked like letting things slip from there. Nottinghamshire were bowled out for 175 in the last over.<\/p>\n

Adam Lyth top-scored with 52 off 27 balls for the White Rose, for whom Dutch international all-rounder Logan van Beek also impressed with 28 off 16 down the order and a wicket. AJ Tye also impressed with 3-18 from 3.3 overs of seam, including two late wickets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yorkshire\u2019s seventh win in 12 group games means they finish second in the group and may still get a home quarter-final on Wednesday. That\u2019s dependent on the outcome of the Surrey versus Essex game this evening at The Kia Oval. We could do with Essex winning that game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Match Report: Adam Lyth crashed five sixes \u2013 four of them to the leg-side \u2013 as he raced to a fifty off 24 balls, by which time Yorkshire were 85-0 early in the seventh over.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But Notts\u2019 hit back strongly to reduce the score to 95-3 in the 10th.<\/p>\n

Lyth and Will Luxton (38) fell, one lbw to Benny Howell\u2019s seam and the other caught behind cutting Patterson-White\u2019s. Benny Howell then had Root caught at short third off a miscue for two.<\/p>\n

Pace off the ball helped the Outlaws get a grip of things, with Patterson-White later getting Moeen Ali caught and Matthew Revis lbw in the 15th over as part of a collapse which saw the hosts lose five for 17 to fall to 159-8 in the 19th.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But two sixes in 28 off 16 from Logan van Beek helped Yorkshire take 34 off the last 11 balls.<\/p>\n

Outlaws captain Joe Clarke then hit four of his first seven balls to the boundary, but he couldn\u2019t go on and \u2013 for 23 \u2013 was one of four quick wickets to fall as the visitors slipped from 32-0 to 56-4.<\/p>\n

Clarke miscued Hassan Ali to mid-off, while van Beek, Dom Bess and AJ Tye also struck.<\/p>\n

On a slower than usual Headingley surface, their task already looked a tricky one, and so it proved.<\/p>\n

There was some brief fireworks from South African George Linde and Haynes, the former who contributed 25, before both fell to Root\u2019s off-spin in the 12th over. Linde drilled to cover, Haynes was caught at deep backward square-leg.<\/p>\n

And when Patterson-White was bowled by Jafer Chohan\u2019s leg-spin in the next \u2013 107-7 \u2013 that really was that.<\/p>\n

Some lusty hitting from Howell (30) and Pennington just about kept the game alive before Tye twice and Hassan struck again to wrap things up.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Australian seamer Tye finished with an excellent 3-18 from 3.3 overs.<\/p>\n

Turning Point: Nottinghamshire slipped from 32-0 in the fourth over of their chase to 56-4 in the seventh, putting the skids under their chances of victory.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Magic Moment: The early assault from Adam Lyth, who walloped five sixes in a 24-ball fifty, taking Yorkshire to 85-0 in the seventh over. Four of his sixes came over the leg-side as he attacked against seam and spin.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Stat of the Match: Yorkshire have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Blast for the seventh time in their history and the first time since 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Another one for you, Dom Bess also finished with five catches in the innings, including his caught and bowled. That\u2019s a Yorkshire record in T20 cricket and a joint world record.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously a disappointing Friday night (Roses defeat). Mathematically I think it was pretty impossible for us not to go through today, but still we wanted to win and try to take some momentum into Wednesday, whoever we play.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be nice to get a home quarter-final. But, as I said last week, you get to this stage and you\u2019ve just got to get in the knockout stages, whether you\u2019re home or away.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe take plenty of confidence from what we\u2019ve done in the group.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got options with bat and ball, very dangerous with a bat towards the back end, and there\u2019s plenty of options with the ball. Apart from Friday night, we\u2019ve fielded brilliantly. So lots to be confident about.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pitch has been used before. We had a brilliant powerplay, and the lads just thought it was a bit sticky in the middle. We lost probably a few too many wickets, but Logan played a blinder with the bat, and to get 20 off the last over was obviously handy.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next: Yorkshire are in quarter-final action on Wednesday. They don\u2019t yet know who their opponents will be, but it\u2019s likely to be a 4.30pm start to avoid a clash with England\u2019s football World Cup semi-final against Argentina in the US.
