Jay-Z<\/a>\u2018s third night in Yankee Stadium was hit with a near four-hour delay after fans reportedly rushed the gates.<\/p>\n

Sunday night (July 12) marked his third night at the venue, with the evening billed as \u2018Extra Innings\u2019<\/a>, the follow-up to his previous \u201830\u2019 and \u201825\u2019 shows that celebrated the anniversaries of his \u2018Reasonable Doubt\u2019 and \u2018The Blueprint\u2019 albums.<\/p>\n

According to a report from ABC7<\/a>, an unidentified police source claimed that a large number of fans had rushed at least two of the stadium\u2019s gates ahead of the gig. These fans reportedly got past security without being screened, prompting a full lockdown of the stadium, with fans not allowed in or out for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n

One clip making the rounds on social media appeared to show A$AP Rocky<\/a>, Charlamagne Tha God, and Fabolous stood outside waiting to get in, with the video captioned: \u201cWow, even celebrities are stuck outside the last Jay-Z Yankee Stadium show tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jay-Z eventually took to the stage four hours after the concert\u2019s listed start time at around midnight, telling the crowd: \u201cI appreciate your patience. We gonna have a good time. I got some shit for you, I promise you.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was like ten thousand people outside,\u201d he explained. \u201cThey closed all the doors \u2018cause [people] rushed the door, and I didn\u2019t want to start music and have people get trampled. I\u2019m really sorry for the inconvenience.\u201d<\/p>\n

JAY-Z\u2019s third and final concert at Yankee Stadium was scheduled to begin at 8 PM but has still not started as of 11:30 PM.<\/p>\n

On the first night, Beyonc\u00e9 joined him onstage during the concert\u2019s first song, singing Mary J. Blige\u2019s part on \u2018Can\u2019t Knock the Hustle\u2019<\/a>, and that concert also featured guest appearances from their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, as well as Nas and Alicia Keys.<\/p>\n

Night two, a celebration of the 25th anniversary of his \u2018Blueprint\u2019 album, featured guest spots from Eminem<\/a> and Pharrell<\/a>, with the huge gigs following the announcement that Jay-Z will be hitting London later this year<\/a> as part of a trio of gigs celebrating his 30-year legacy.<\/p>\n

He has previously announced concerts in Paris and Los Angeles<\/a>, on September 10 and October 23, and recently added to that list with a show in London\u2019s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 4.\u00a0It will mark his first concert in the UK in over a decade \u2013 and you can find your tickets\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The rapper returned to the stage for a rare solo performance last month,\u00a0headlining Roots Picnic 2026 as his first festival date in seven years<\/a>\u00a0and breaking out some of his biggest hits.<\/p>\n

That set also saw him take aim at\u00a0Nicki Minaj<\/a>,\u00a0Drake<\/a>,\u00a0Kanye West<\/a>, and more in a freestyle.<\/p>\n

There have been rumours that Jay-Z is working on a new album, which will be the follow-up to 2017\u2019s \u20184:44<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 swirling for years now, although friend and collaborator\u00a0Cash Cobain<\/a> recently put a dampener on hopes for new material, saying that the rapper told him recently that he is \u201cabsolutely not dropping an album\u201d anytime soon (via X<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, it was confirmed Jay-Z\u00a0and\u00a0Eminem<\/a>\u00a0will reunite on\u00a0Rakim<\/a>\u2018s upcoming\u00a0new album \u2013 marking their first collaboration in 25 years<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The two rap legends last appeared on the same track on 2001\u2019s \u2018Renegade\u2019 from Jay-Z\u2019s \u2018The Blueprint\u2019.<\/p>\n

Now, they\u2019re set to join forces once again on a currently untitled song, which will appear on a forthcoming collaborative album from Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa, due for release on August 28.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Jay-Z\u00a0shared the original version of the \u2018Reasonable Doubt\u2019 single \u2018Dead Presidents\u2019 on streaming platforms for the first time<\/a>.<\/p>\n
