white \u2018English dragon\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>When the club posted an image of the jacket modelled by striker Sam Smith on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Wrexham_AFC\/status\/2075864155832103205\" rel=\"nofollow\">social media<\/a> as part of their new season kit launch, there was an immediate backlash from fans.<\/p>\n<p>Many pointed out that in ancient Welsh folklore, the White Dragon is the mythological enemy of the Red Dragon (Y Ddraig Goch) and historically represented the invading Anglo-Saxons.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters questioned how the club could have missed that detail especially as the Red and White Dragon folklore was explained during the last series of Welcome To Wrexham in an episode ironically titled <a href=\"https:\/\/tv.apple.com\/mx\/episode\/red-dragons\/umc.cmc.1l1fkpix4h3bp7ac5kbctla5o?showId=umc.cmc.495dp3a7hm9r832kl4z41z1zi&amp;l=en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Red Dragons\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-07-13-at-15.23.50.jpeg\" alt=\"\" Anthem fan jacket with track bottoms initially appeared for sale on the club\u2019s online shop, it was then removed with a page not found message replacing it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Wrexham-white-dragon-jacket.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1097\" height=\"335\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-334514\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-07-13-at-15.04.42.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1772\" height=\"984\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-334515\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Nation Cymru emailed the club\u2019s media department to ask if the jacket had been removed following complaints from supporters but didn\u2019t receive a response.<\/p>\n<p>However, a subsequent phone call to the club shop confirmed that the jacket had indeed been pulled from sale both online and in store.<\/p>\n<p>Many supporters expressed their displeasure with the club\u2019s actions swamping social media with comments.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time fans have questioned the club\u2019s merchandising ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Last month pictures taken in the club shop of Wrexham caps for sale with England flags on them were posted to social media much to the bewilderment of many supporters.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-07-13-at-20.50.04.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1422\" height=\"1516\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-334539\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s safe to say fans would like the club\u2019s designers to do a quick refresh on their Celtic history before committing anymore designs for sale.<\/p>\n<p>On X fans didn\u2019t pull any punches in their views on the newest \u2018cultural faux pas\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a selection of comments (Caution:
