EastEnders episodes this week are set to run one whole day early on BBC iPlayer. New installments of the soap will drop on Monday through to Thursday this week, despite the live TV schedule having episodes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Episodes will drop at 6am each day before airing on TV at 7.30pm, meaning fans of the show will be able to see Friday’s installment on demand a whole 24 hours before it is shown live.

Wimbledon and World Cup coverage have both seen disruptions to the soap schedule over the last few weeks, leading to double bills and days of no new soap episodes.

Coronation Street and Emmerdale also saw similar schedule changes, with Monday going according to plan, while Tuesday featured no new episodes. With the World Cup coming to an end on Sunday, however, regular soap service is expected to resume as it did before.

Sharing the news in a post on X, fans have been quick to share their thoughts over the iPlayer change, with one user asking “why not just match the TV schedule”, adding: “This means the Friday episode will have been available on iplayer for over 24 hours before people view on it on TV.”

While another reasoned that “this is definitely the final week of the disrupted schedule as the World Cup finishes on Sunday”.
