{"id":690875,"date":"2026-07-14T09:38:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T09:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/690875\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T09:38:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T09:38:13","slug":"teen-who-lost-most-of-her-hand-features-in-channel-4s-the-piano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/690875\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen who lost most of her hand features in Channel 4&#8217;s The Piano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Over the years, the family has remained in touch with music therapist Loombe, with Grace shadowing her as a music therapist for a day and observing some of the children&#8217;s music therapy sessions. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">These sessions take place at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c8e2ndd4pk0o\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anglia Ruskin University<\/a> in Cambridge, where the hospital&#8217;s therapy programme is based.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She and Loombe still play together as friends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;From the first time I met Grace, it was obvious that she was incredibly resilient and musically gifted,&#8221; said Loombe.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;She loved all the instruments, particularly the accordion, guitar, piano keyboard and the rainbow bells. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;She wanted to play everything and could copy melodies in no time. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I had no hesitation in recommending Grace for The Piano, and of course she performed beautifully.
